Lifelight

Lifelight, the holy city on the hill, stands as the spiritual heart of Tehiri. Home to the grand temples and sanctuaries of nearly every known deity, it is a place where worshippers of all faiths gather in reverence, discourse, and pilgrimage. Towering spires and radiant halls mark its skyline, each devoted to a different divine order. For many, a journey to Lifelight is a sacred rite—its streets walked by prophets, saints, and seekers alike. Within its walls, theologies converge, doctrines are debated, and the divine presence is felt in every stone.

Description

History

Long before Lifelight was constructed another civilization called the Precallum Empire dominated the Scythe region, but for reasons unknown they fell. In their place remained various theological orders that had managed to persevere with their divine abilities. These orders decided to band together and begin construction of a city where they could study and practice worship safely, and so Lifelight was formed.

Government

Governance in Lifelight is structured around the Theocratic Round Table, a council where representatives of the city's major theologies convene to make decisions. The more prominent a theology, the greater its influence on the city's policies. The government, while rooted in theocratic principles, also emphasizes cooperation, ensuring that the city remains a haven for followers of diverse deities. Currently the leader of the Theocratic Round Table is High Priestess Elara Dawnbringer, head of the Church of Geryu, the most followed God in Keeper’s Coast as a whole.

Economy

The city's economy is largely based on its ability to quickly and easily provide divine services, as well as a number of donations from the more devoted followers.

Districts

Shrine of Serenity: A sprawling plaza surrounds the city’s spiritual core, a large temple complex dedicated to all gods, celebrating universal peace and devotion.

Solace Radium: This district forms a ring around the Shrine of Serenity, featuring bustling marketplaces and residential areas. It's known for its serene gardens and small chapels dedicated to lesser-known deities.

Divine Quarters: Home to clergy and religious scholars, this district houses monastic orders and theological libraries.

Oracle’s Outlook: Known for its breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and seascapes, this district is a center for oracles and seers. Many temples here focus on prophecy and divination, with public forums where oracles share their visions.

Spirit’s Path: This district is dedicated to the city’s cemeteries and memorial parks, here specialty coins are made to be buried with the dead to make sure their travel to the afterlife is smooth.

Factions

The city contains churches following nearly every deity, and due to a mutual understanding the churches remain peaceful despite their often differing beliefs.
