Iz'Uru

Iz'Uru is a vibrant firenewt village nestled on top of natural hotsprings. While not the only firenewt village of it's kind, it's notable in it's position over a Warpsite- one of very few devices that can be used to rapidly travel across the continent. The village is always growing, and is famed for both it's medicinal hot waters, and the newt artisans that live there.

Description

History

In the year 1447, a firenewt village lost it's natural heat source. Needing warm water to live, the newts received the aid of several members of the Delver's Guild to establish a new village over a recently discovered hotspring- one conveniently located near what'd be revealed as a Warpsite. When the Cabal of Blood attempted to take control the Warpsite, the firenewts successfully pushed them back, and aided in riding the Bongani region of the Cabal's influence forever. Since then, the village has acted as a neutral ground between the many villages of the region and those outside of it, a common stop on anyone trip throughout.

Government

In firenewt tradition, the town lacks any central leadership, with the village's eldest instead helping decide on diplomats and guards- no differently than picking who'd clean the sleeping pools. Those tasked with protecting the town and dealing with outsiders are known as Wardens, who are the closest thing the town has to a sheriff or mayor.

Economy

Iz'Uru is largely self-sufficient, with food forests for hunting and gathering and an easy route to the ocean for fishing. They do make a considerable amount of coin from travelers coming in and out of the warpsite, often selling pottery or trips to their public hotsprings.

Climate

Iz'Uru is extremely hot and humid, even more so than the normal jungle around it. Built directly on a natural hotspring, many of the buildings and clothing are fittingly altered to survive the intense moisture that comes from living here.
