Asterion
A labyrinth that doubles as a city, Asterion is as mysterious as it is holy—a sacred spiral of stone where temples and halls wind along ancient paths of pilgrimage. Every turn carries the weight of devotion, every corridor hums with arcane purpose, and those who walk its ways are tested in spirit, mind, and faith.
Aurora Spire District: Home to the lighthouse temple of Lumair, as well as the city’s wealthiest residents. Known for its golden rooftops that catch the morning sun.
Stormbreaker Docks: A busy trade hub with a shrine to Geryu. Fishers and merchants often leave offerings to ensure calm seas.
The Dawnwardens: An ancient and disciplined religious order devoted to Lumair, god of Light. The Dawnwardens serve as protectors of the innocent and spiritual guides through both the darkness of night and the darkness of the soul. They are the city’s moral compass—and its last line of divine defense.
Description
History
Asterion was founded by Archmage Orian Daxos, a Tiefling visionary who, in the wake of the Precallum Empire’s fall, believed arcane power should be harnessed for unity, order, and growth. Drawn to the towering cliffs and the sacred labyrinth etched into the region’s coastal mountains, he led a congregation of stonemasons, priests, and seafolk to forge a city that honored both the gods and innovation. With divine guidance from Beimos and Geryu, and arcane mastery from his own hand, Orian stabilized the crumbling mountain cliffs and laid the city’s foundations around the glowing labyrinth—an ancient site of pilgrimage and mystery. Over time, temples and guildhalls rose along the spiraling paths, each shaped with reverence and precision. Today, Asterion stands as a radiant haven of spiritual trials, sunlit worship, and sacred stonework—venerated for its discipline and purpose, though often tested by the weight of its own sacred law.Climate
