Rogue

Rogues rely on cunning, stealth, and their foes’ vulnerabilities to get the upper hand in any situation. They have a knack for finding the solution to just about any problem. A few even learn magical tricks to supplement their other abilities. Many Rogues focus on stealth and deception, while others refine skills that help them in a dungeon environment, such as climbing, finding and disarming traps, and opening locks. In combat, Rogues prioritize subtle strikes over brute strength. They would rather make one precise strike than wear an opponent down with a barrage of blows.
Unlike other professions, there are no public institutions that train rogues in the open. Most rogues learn their trade from a mentor, secret institution, criminal organization or guild. However, Rogues can be found in many types of organizations due to their versatility in many different skills.

Arcane Trickster

Some Rogues enhance their fine-honed skills of stealth and agility with spells, learning magical tricks to aid them in their trade. These magical tricks are usually learned from a mentor, but can also be learned in a more official institution. In some cases, the arcane trickster might have even started out with some formal education is magic at a university or similar official institution. Mentors can be found in most capital cities in Aurelia, but some may be found in very unexpected places.

Assassin

Assassins undergo rigorous training in stealth, poison, and disguise to eliminate their targets with deadly efficiency. They are usually trained from very young by states for the unsavory work or by criminal organisations to fight their competition. As assassins grow more powerful, some may become freelancers or otherwise leave their service and become adventurers of Dini Mueter or similar organizations. The three most infamous organizations training assassins are Amara's Shadow, Dark Tide and Orelia's Children.

Soulknife

A Soulknife strikes with the mind, cutting through barriers both physical and psychic. Psychic capabilities are rare in Aurelia, but because these abilities can create powerful individuals when they do appear, there are several organisations that nurture and train such individuals. The most powerful of these institutions is the Order of Zer'Atash. Zer'Atash is worshipped by many Soulknifes as he is the patron of psychic powers.

Thief

Thiefs represent the most common type of rogues and can be found in most larger criminal syndicates and other illegal enterprises.
