Mastiff

A mastiff is a domesticated species common in the coastal areas of Aurelia. However, they are not a native species and are rarely found inland. They were brought to Aurelia by the immigrants from overseas. Mastiffs are very loyal and can be very useful companions. They can be trained for hunting and tracking, for guarding, as mounts or for war.   There are several breeders and trainers in Amara's Seat that sell puppies, untrained mastiffs, mastiffs as guard or hunting dogs. There is only one trainer that can train mastiffs as mounts. However, there are no such mastiffs on sale. The training will take around one month. There is no trainier for war dogs in Amara's Seat.

Keen Hearing and Smell. The mastiff has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or smell.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 1 sq., one target. Hit: 4 1d6+1 piercing damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 11 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Mastiffs are impressive hounds prized by humanoids for their loyalty and keen senses. Mastiffs can be trained as guard dogs, hunting dogs, and war dogs. Halflings and other small humanoids ride them as mounts.
