House Bannerman

The Bannerman of a Stone Elfiry house are the most symbolically important roles one can have as they are the ones that hold thee banner of their house when conducting actions of diplomacy, battle and even at times at the end of a espionage when the enemy has realise their plans have been stolen or a leader is dead they will see in the distance the bannerman atop their steed holding the banner of the House that had done the deed.

The Symbol of the House is a vital component to its legacy and its future and banners are magically crafted by artisans that belong to House Wefa one of the oldest houses and one of the few houses protected by law to have a monopoly on crafting house banners, the house banners themselves are indeed magical as they will record any and all events that happen around them which is why they are always held close to moments of triumph for the Stone Elfiry House they represent then when presented the Bannerman can cast a arcane sigil to replay the events to others at parties, hearings and important events to demonstrate the strength of the House.

The Traditional visual appearance of a bannerman is a long pole with the rectangle flag of the house with the bannerman wearing a cloth with chainmail of the house colours helmets are forbidden and a house is only allowed a certain number of these special banners depending on their house status the more prestigious the house the more banners and therefore bannerman they have with the most bannerman a house was ever reported having being 62.

This role and the item in associated are so highly regarded that losing a house banner or a bannerman is immediate grounds for a swift lose in status in Stone Elfiry society and a opportunity for lesser houses to gain prestige by taking efforts to rescue the banner or bannerman that lost in order to claim them for themselves in this occasion the banner will be taken to House Wefa to be redesigned in the lesser houses image.

Hey! I like how important Bannermen are to a noble house. Is there a reason why they're forbidden from using helmets?

I somewhat rushed this for summer camp but plan to expand it, its a combination of 1. this stone elfiry is the pride and peak of our house as bannerman are typically the very old veterans who have survived many campaigns and 2. A case of arrogance where its basically saying "we are so confidant that you wont get to him we are giving them the bare minimum of armour so a taunt.
