Gukan the Cocktren

Gukan the Cocktren is one of the many endless oddities that Aurelia has to offer one of the Cocktren a chicken like species with acidic eggs and a sharp metal beak that as the strange ability to only be seen when one is not looking for them but in Gukan's case she has a extra "blessing" coming about from when she stumbled into a ancient The Tilgratzi ruin and find a strange set of fragmented gemstones that look like seeds being the hungry Cocktren she ate the shards only to pass out moments later and wake up with the intelligence of a fully sapient being with ancient arcane knowledge crammed into her small brain.

To say this...took some adjustment is a understatement as the poor Cocktren found she has not only been gained a level of awareness that she alone among her kind had the knowledge that could rekindle a lot of ancient Tilgratzi mechanisms to which she used to her advantage leading her beloved if now dim witted male mate and her nest into a Tilgratzi ruin using the various traps as well as her now massive understanding of inner workings of magical flow of the The Outer Plains. The Tapestry of Souls. to protect them she sadly learned that being the smartest also meant that the dangers of what she created were a danger to her feeble minded kin.

As after procreating a second batch of eggs, her mate and the first set of hatchlings wandered looking for food as she rested, only for poor Gukan to find them dead and becoming lunch to some adventurers investigating the reactivated traps she had set, in her grief and to the baffled panic of the adventurers she began casting spells so above the common knowledge that only one of the hardened veterans escaped to tell the story of Gukan that in the Arzani tongue meant "Unnatural one" which Gukan took with pride, resigning herself to look after he second batch of eggs mourning her first hatchlings and her mate since for Cocktren's they mate for life.

However her peace was short lived as tales of the Strange magic wielding Cocktren spread far and wide and more and more invaders come to her nest seeking the truth of this stupid claim only to be met by the protective rage of a mother with what little purpose of her life remained in the small oval shapes that dwelt in her nest, yet even with her power and knowledge she was merely a bird and needed rest like one.

So after several months of nonstop invasions from adventurers her exhaustion finally caught up to her and she was captured by the evil wretched beings known as the The Akrett she was no doubt doomed to be the subject of their experiments into the the Tilgratzi ruins and her unhatched little ones to be poked and prodded, that might have been the case if it weren't for one of the stone ones ( Stone Elfiry ) came to attack the caravan setting the many animals free with nought but a pair of knuckle duster's though as the stone elfiry laid dying from his wounds Gukan healed her saviour and telepathically communicated with him.

This Strange one was known as Hulvar of House Tristam and was seeking to stop the Akrett experiments into the Tilgratzi and it clicked for both of them that they shared the same goals, thus started the adventurers of Gukan and Hulvar and while it has been over 50 years of searching for her little ones Hulvar has never let her give up hope as it was clear she lived far longer than a normal Cocktren maybe her little ones had also gained her abilities and intelligence so the search continues.
