Augmented Valor

Augmented Valor is a cyberpunk noir science fiction setting set in a post-apocalyptic world after World War III and two wars against intelligent self-aware machines. The wars poisoned the Earth, making it unable to sustain life. The wars forced humankind to flee to the stars, first to the Earth’s moon and several space stations at Lagrange points.

As technology improved under pressure to expand humanity’s habitat options, they chose Mars as the first colony. Today, Mars is the most powerful economic and military power in the Earth’s solar system.

As the years passed and technology continued to advance, FTL ships and genetic manipulation allowed the colonization of distant galaxies. Alpha Centauri was the first star system colonized.

As our story starts, stargates have just started entering service with four stargates currently active: Mars, Alpha Centauri (at Proxima Centauri b and c), and Chendiuria. The farthest colony from Earth, Chendiuria, is where a majority of the Augmented Valor story takes place.

The modern culture emphasizes pervasive armament, intense tribalism, utility, and vigilance.
