Ruthenium
Ruthenium is a rare, hard, and silvery-white metal that is part of the platinum group, with atomic number 44. It is highly resistant to corrosion, making it useful as a hardener for platinum and palladium, in the electronics industry for electrical contacts, and as a catalyst in various chemical processes. It is not easily cast due to its high melting point of 2,334oC.
