A brilliant Italian-Chinese geneticist, exobiologist, and astrobiologist who improved cryostasis medication with compounds from Gono Prime jellyfish.
Dr. Mikalay-Wang is better known as the leader of the team of scientists that developed the gene-splice for the fifth wave of Mars colonists. Using genetic material from Deinococcus radiodurans changing the DNA of the last (5th) wave of Mars colonists (and much later, the Chendiuria colonists) making them and their offspring remarkably resilient to the harsh conditions of Mars, particularly radiation, desiccation, and oxidative stress. They named the DNA splice and the technique after the late Dr. Mikalay-Wang (d. 2708 CE) to honor him for his research and development.
