Chendiurian BUMGEF
The Chendiurian BUMGEF (Big Ugly Mostly Grass-eating Fucker) aka Savannah Rhino-Crocodile-Toad
Scientific Name: Nidhogg Lurduplobator Chendiurias.
Habitat and Appearance
The BUMGEF is a mega-faunal herbivore native to the vast, windswept savannahs of the Eastern Continent of Chendiuria.
- Size and Weight: These creatures are truly massive.
- Females (Cows): Average around 4,000 kg
- Males (Bulls): Can easily exceed 5,000 kg, giving them a terrifying presence
- Coat and Heat Regulation: They are covered in a thick, sandy-brown, shaggy coat. This fur acts as excellent insulation, reflecting the intense mid-day heat while providing just enough warmth to mitigate the slight chill of the savannah nights.
- Physiology: The BUMGEF is a grotesque creature resembling a fusion of several once familiar Earth creatures:
- The bulk and ill-temper of a giant rhino, complete with a thick hide beneath the fur.
- The long, low-slung body and powerful jaws of a crocodile.
- The warty, bumpy texture and wide, squat head of a massive toad.
Sensory System & Temperament
Despite its bulk, the BUMGEF is notoriously nearsighted.
- Vision: It possesses the bizarre feature of two eyes on each side of its head (four total). However, this redundancy does little for its visual acuity. It perceives the world as a blurry, close-range smear and relies heavily on its excellent sense of smell and low-frequency vibrations through its feet.
- Temperament: The creature is universally known for its bad temper. Its poor vision makes it easily startled and incredibly aggressive. Any sudden movement or smell within its small visual range is often met with a charging attack. This unpredictability makes it one of the most dangerous animals on the Chendiurian savannah.
Diet and Conflict
While primarily a herbivore, the BUMGEF is an opportunistic omnivore—a trait that brings it into direct conflict with human interests.
- Primary Diet (The "Grass Eating" Part): Their natural diet consists of the coarse, deep-rooted savannah grasses.
- The Problem Diet: They have developed a distinct taste for the imported, non-native, and GMO'd crops grown on the sprawling, automated robot farms. These plants are often easier to digest and more nutrient-dense than the native grasses.
- Carnivorous Raiding: BUMGEFs are famous—and feared—for their raiding behavior, especially on ostrich and emu farms. They will aggressively seek and consume both the valuable eggs and smaller, younger birds, making them pests of the highest order to local agribusiness.
