Eira (Ay-ruh)

Goddess of Wisdom, Magic, and Nature

Eira is a goddess worshipped in Atraeleon, often associated with wisdom, magic, and nature. She is commonly depicted as an elven woman with long hair and robes made of leaves and flowers, holding a staff or wand. Her symbol is a tree or a stylized flower, which is often used by her followers as a mark of allegiance.   According to Atraelian mythology, Eira was one of the first beings to join Atraea in the creation of the world. She is said to have been responsible for bringing magic into the world and teaching humans and other creatures how to use it. Eira is also credited with creating the first forests and teaching humans the ways of the natural world, including how to forage and farm.   Eira is often revered by druids, wizards, and other magic-users, who see her as a patron of arcane knowledge and the natural world. Her followers believe that she values wisdom, intuition, and harmony with the world around us, and that she rewards those who seek to deepen their understanding of magic and the natural world. Eira's holy day is celebrated on the fall equinox, when the day and night are equal in length. This day is marked by ceremonies honoring the changing of the seasons, and by quests for knowledge and understanding.   Eira's temples are often built in natural settings, such as in groves of trees or near natural springs. Her priests and followers often seek to preserve the natural world and protect it from harm, and many are active in conservation efforts and nature-based spiritual practices. Overall, Eira is seen as a wise and benevolent deity, who embodies the values of magic, wisdom, and harmony that are so highly prized in Atraelian society.
