Argothax the Magnificent
A Sun Elven wizard who lived in the early days of the post-Calamity recovery period, circa 3000-3500 RB. Rather than being famous for feats of arcane might, though he was known to be greatly mighty, Argothax is better known for his societal achievements. He played a significant role in restoring knowledge of arcane magic and encouraging education in the post-Calamity world. He pioneered spells such as Sending and Teleportation Circle. These helped transport people and knowledge across the world to help recover the advances that were lost due to the Calamity.
His legacy has been somewhat tarnished as a result of the rise and fall of the Solarian Empire. The Solarian Empire used Argothax as an example of their proclaimed Sun Elven supremacy. As such, the figure has become associated with Sun Elven supremacist movements. Following the fall of the Solarian Empire, there has been some effort, particularly by the resurgent Moon Elves, to repair the academic view of Argothax.
