Drake
Often considered "lesser" creatures than their cousins True Dragons, drakes are any of a category of species of quadrupedal dragon, ranging from animal to subhuman intelligence.
Basic Information
Anatomy
A drake in its natural form is a reptile-like quadruped with a head, four legs, and a strong tail.
The exact size and body configuration of a drake varies sharply by species, and unlike True Dragons, most species of drakes do not live indefinitely.
Although considered of lesser quality and potency than True Dragons, drake corpses do feature very strong scales and bones, though the alchemical uses for their blood are far fewer. Like True Dragons, their flesh is generally poisonous to most sentient life, and as such is not seen as useful by most civilizations.
Extraordinary & Supernatural Abilities
Many species of drake possess a breath weapon similar to True Dragons, and some possess a limited number of supernatural abilities. See the individual species page for more information.
