Atmos

A world in which the islands and continents are seperated not by the oceans but by a great chasm the bottom of which few people have been too and even fewer have returned from, within the chasam is a great mist, inside of which lives the greatest evils and darkest creatures not known to man. The "continents" are small and the islands smaller still, the largest known of which being no larger than a city. There are no major countries only small coalitions of a few cities and villages. The majority of people get around by airship in some capacity, some closer islands have small bridges between them. Some islands have be turned into small shipping ports where larger cargo ships come to dock and sell materials, the "continents" containing the larger cities often have a industrialised port of some fashion whilst the small villages have to make do and have their own creative ways of loading and unloading ships. There are no oceans or major rivers, water is one of the most scarce resources, because of this the largest religion is the worship of Lumo the goddess of rain, who has entire islands as temples devoted to her, allthough there are other other deities.
