Aeonmagica

1400 and beyond

Aeonmagica is the era that saw magic reintroduced to the world. After magic was deemed necessary to limit and control a millennium ago in the Mundane, there was little chance of casting even the simplest of spells and Swordera began. However, the other planes of existence have been slowly leaking magic back in all this time. It took time for the world to notice just what had happened, but, after a millennium apart, this leaking of magic also linked the planes closer together than ever before. Now, as the Aeonmagica begins, we see the Mundane as close as it has ever been to Faerie and the other planes.

After traversing the length of it, they reach a puzzle door and were forced to solve it before they could continue—they solved it like it was nothing and it was ridiculous. After getting past the silly excuse of a fortification, the party meets madness-sustained fungaloids and attempts to parley with their chieftain, but all is for not, as the village already decided to eat them if the opportunity presented itself.   The offspring of the chieftain, however, somehow found themselves unaffected by the madness that plagued the rest of the village and managed to warn the party before anything horrible befell them. This offspring, _Veg_, and his plant-based hound, Lichen, decided that they would leave the only village they ever knew and seek out sanity alongside their newfound friends.

It is not a normal thing to come across a sentient puddle of slime, but that is just what happened this night to the party when they went to bed down for a long rest.   Nicae Underfoot glided up to the party and bid them welcome to her home, or at least her temporary one.   Seeing that Nicae sought to have someplace to truly call home and seeing how the gathered group of party members and followers was expansive to the point of needing a permanent settlement, the party offered Nicae a spot among them, and they accepted without a moment's hesitation.

This egg joins the collection of other eggs that the party has acquired—they cannot wait for it to hatch!
