Bonewrought Steel
Bonewrought Steel is a hardened version of metal that is prepared using the bones of the deceased in a ritual funerary rite to consecrate the ashes that come from burning the bones and melting that ash into metal during the forging practise. This practise is held by many of the orc clans of the Yalverway as a way to honour their dead.
The ritual is meant to imbue the metal with the strength and spirit of the departed so their legacy can continue. A skilled orc chef for example may have their bones added to cooking knives or a set of pans when they pass to add their spirit to dishes cooked with them, whereas a stablemaster may have her bones forged into horseshoes and bridle buckles to allow her spirit to continue to be with the animals.
