etween the 14th and 10th centuries BC, thousands of years before the Egyptian, Indian or Mayan civilizations were even a glimmer on the horizon of history, there was the Empire of Atalantis.
Atalantis was an island continent about the size of Texas, located in the Atlantic Ocean due west from the Strait of Gibraltar. The island was divided into six general regions: the Great Citadel and its surrounding areas; the Eastern Coast; the Northern Mountains; the Inner Plains; the Western Coast; and the Southern Peninsula. Each of these regions had its own monarchs, with the Great Citadel's High King/Queen ruling as the supreme monarch over the others. The regions were also governed by elite members of the clergy who controlled the six great Master Temples.
Both the monarchs and the clergy, in turn, were guided by the wisdom of the Sun Father and the Sea Mother: human avatars of the gods who were believed to reincarnate every generation.
While the rest of humanity was still stuck in the Stone Age, the people of Atalantis -- who called themselves the Na'aqals -- were many centuries more advanced, with technology to rival even the modern era. The source of their technology was a type of crystal found only on Atalantis which could be used to harness an invisible energy called kaa. With these crystals, the Na'aqals had the power to manipulate both matter and minds, allowing them to build a civilization unlike any that had ever been seen or would ever be seen again on the earth.
