Character Overview

Are they a man? A woman? Elf, dwarf, or dragon? No one knows—for no one has ever seen the Grand Puppeteer.

He has no kingdom. Wears no sigil. Answers to no throne. And yet, when the world forgets him, a doll always appears bearing his seal- a hand bound in strings.

No one knows what balance he preserves. But when it is threatened, he acts. And when he acts, it begins with a letter.

The Letter & the Dolls

Whenever the Puppeteer chooses to act, he sends a letter—handwritten, bearing his seal - a hand bound in strings , and delivered by one of his creations, Steward.

Steward is the self-proclaimed Ninth Creation of the Grand Puppeteer. Steward does not fight. He does not threaten. He merely arrives, smiles, and delivers the Puppeteer’s letter.

Steward has been burned, buried, stabbed, drowned, hanged, and beheaded—yet he always returns when the puppeteer needs to act. His reappearance is simply... inevitable.

Should one deny the Puppeteer’s letter—should the intended target defy his will—his other creations will reveal themselves. A trusted friend, a loyal commander, a beloved spouse. They do not arrive. They were already there.

The Grand Puppeteer’s methods are unseen. Nothing is know about his powers except that he controls the dolls.

His creations act as his hands, his words, his weapons.

Backstory

Unknown. No one remembers when he appeared. No one knows where he was born—or even if he was born. Some say he predates the Golden Throne. Others believe he was never alive to begin with.

There are no origin myths, no old names, no ancestral ties. Only legends. And those legends always begin the same way: “There was once a letter...”
