The S.S.D.
The Surface Specialist Division (S.S.D.) is a branch of the Coalition's R.D.D. that focuses on planting labs on planet, star, and other astral body surfaces to study their features, life, and any other phenomenon on a small scale. You can almost always find an S.S.D. encampment or two on a planet, filled with experts on the local climate, fauna, etc. However, they will not know anything about any other planet, or anything outside of the locality.
