The Clan of the Ink-Bloods

The Ink-Bloods are a subset of the Wizards Guild, a group of people who through various circumstances have come to gain magical, ink-like blood. They started as a small group who all had similar experiences, seeming to pass away under circumstances involving magic and ingesting ink, then being reborn as creatures with the Ink-Blood. After finding out about the Ink-Bloods, and the incredible leap in technology and consumables they could fuel, Coalition High Command began experimentation to create more. Under the public eye, industrialization of the Ink-Bloods continued until they numbered in the hundreds. Eventually, High Command's scheme was found out, and put to a stop after public outcry. But these tarnished people yet remain, giving gallons of blood to fuel adventurers and their magic needs.

The greatest and oldest of these people is Whittaker Ink-Blood, the namesake and original Ink-Blood. He is a stockier man, standing at 5'7" with salt and pepper hair and goatee. He wears traditional clothing and has tattoos in the abstract shape of waves that begin to move when he fights or feels strong emotions. He is seen as the counsellor of the Clan, the Head Authority, and the most powerful Ink-Blood.

Nowadays, the Ink-Bloods have industrialized their blood, taking control of their own prospecting. They now sell small quantites of pure blood, and now offer their own engraving and grafting services all over the galaxy rather than letting a third party meddle in good product. Most space-stations and planets now have their very own family of Ink-Bloods who supply the area.
