Feature: Expert Commander
You gain a number of command dice equal to your Strength or Dexterity Modifier (your choice) plus your Proficiency Bonus. While on a ship, and acting in the ship's initiative, you can expend Command Dice, which are d8s, to use a maneuver. Many maneuvers enhance, coordinate, or protect your crew in some way. You can use only one maneuver for any movement, action, bonus action, or reaction. Maneuvers that require a saving throw will have a DC equal to 8 plus your Strength or Dexterity Modifier (your choice) plus your Proficiency Bonus. You regain all of your expended command dice when you finish a short or long rest.
Brace for Impact. Command your crew to brace for an impact. As an action you can expend a Command Die and, if they can hear you, grant advantage to any of their Saving Throws against falling prone or resisting falling until the start of your next turn.
With me. When you make an attack against a creature, you can expend a Command Die to command any crewmen within 30 feet who can hear you to join you. Roll the Command Die and add the roll to your attack, if you hit the target then all of the crewmen joining you automatically hit with their attacks.
Concentrated Fire. When you order your crewmen to fire on a single target as an action you can expend a Command Die to combine the damage of all of their attacks against that target into one single attack, thereby only engaging the target's damage threshold once rather than for each attack.
Defensive Tactics. As a bonus action you can expend a Command Die and command your crew to engage in a Defensive Formation, attacks against them are made at disadvantage but their attacks are also made at disadvantage. This formation lasts until its canceled or combat ends.
Inspiring Leader. When at least one member of your crew that you can see makes a Saving Throw you can expend a Command Die as a reaction and add the roll to all of their Saving Throws against that one attack or action.
Intimidating Presence. When the targets of your crewmen that you can see makes a Saving Throw you can expend a Command Die as a reaction and subtract the roll to all of their Saving Throws against that one attack or action.
Offensive Tactics. As a bonus action you can expend a Command Die and command your crew to engage in an Offensive Formation, attacks against them are made at advantage, but their attacks are also made at advantage. This formation lasts until its canceled or combat ends.
On the Double. When you order your crewmen to man any mounted weapons, as an action you can expend and roll a Command Dice. For a number of turns equal to the roll both Actions and Bonus Actions will engage with the ship's mounted weapons, effectively doubling your crew's rate of fire.
Take Cover. When you, your ship, or a member of your crew is attacked by a creature you can see, as a reaction you can expend one command dice to command your crew to take cover. Roll the command die and add the result to the AC of every crewman that can hear you.
