Elf
Elves are a species of humanoids known for their long lives, agility, and ability as spellcasters. Some people believe them to be flighty, xenophobic, or arrogant, but none of these are universal to the species. Elves are as varied as any other species, with good and bad members.
A subspecies of elves are dark elves, who are usually sensitive to light.

Basic Information
Anatomy
Elves are humanoid, with two arms and two legs. They're known for their slim, lithe bone structure and musculature, though they tend to stand about the same height as humans. They're somewhat less resilient to damage than humans are, and are best known for their ears, which extend to elegant points that range between seven and twelve centimeters in length, often extending to either side of the head at a slight upward angle.
Biological Traits
Elves are unusual in that time treats them extremely kindly, as there is almost no difference in appearance between an elf of thirty and six hundred years. Most others learn to judge the age of an elf based on their mannerisms. When elves approach the end of their lifespan, their decline is rapid, taking less than two years in most cases.
Genetics and Reproduction
Elves are mammals, and reproduce in a similar manner to humans, though they are much less fertile. A mother generally only bears a single child, and the pregnancy is nearly a two year process.
Growth Rate & Stages
The average elf reaches full physical maturity at approximately twenty-five standard years.
Ecology and Habitats
Elves have the unusual ability to adapt to almost any environment given enough time. While this normally takes decades, some elves are able to adapt quickly, and as such can be comfortable in most climates. This doesn't allow them to ignore extreme heat or cold, but it does mean that elves can be found in almost any habitable environment.
Additional Information
Perception and Sensory Capabilities
Elves have keen senses, with eyes adapted to see easily in dim light and ears that pick up sounds more easily than most other species. While their other senses are also heightened, they aren't as sensitive as their sight or hearing.
Lifespan
750 years
