Veronissius
God of Wealth and Prosperity
The god of the wealth of the man, prosperity of the nation. Veronissius is often considered the greediest of the gods, one who seeks to gain wealth and finest of things in life. It is also he who created the value of items to the living beings, giving the gold, silver and copper currency. He is the god of the merchants and tax collectors, those often doing work in his name, carry small silver amulet on their necks with his face on it.
Though he has one great weakness, that being goddess Cleia. It is said in stories, that he has each year tried to find finest of jewels, most ornate of golden statues for her, in hopes to win her love. But to this day he has failed. In one of the stories he took over the minds of the guests at a wedding, attended by Cleia in hopes to try steal her away. But god Kairos was also there as her guardian and fought off each man who tried to steal her. Using only his bare fists and wit to protect her.
Worship and Holy Day
Worshipping Veronissius is often seen done between merchants and everytime goods are exchanged. Every gold, silver and copper coin is seen as blessed by him. His holy temples are found in each city, for the rich store their own wealth in his temple which are protected by the god and his chosen priests. Each priest for this reason are learned men and are accompanied by the city guard in order to protect the wealth.
His holy animal is Goose. Normal offerings for Veronissius are considered to be money, jewelry or wine.
Veronissius holy day is called the Verolucia, day held at 10th of Veruarii when the wealthiest of the city hold public games and feasts.
