Kairos & Caern

Twin Gods of War and Heroism   Kairos and Caern are the gods of War. With Kairos being considered the noble and just, while Caern is the warrior and taker of oaths. It is unknown how they were born, but they are described to be young men in their prime, though also opposites of each other.   Kairos is often seen as the guardian of the Gates of War and one Julianos sends to protect Cleia. He is the god who sees honor in defending the weak, protecting those who cannot do so and never strike an enemy who has surrendered. Kairos often is described to have no helmet, with long flowing hair and wearing shield and sword.   Caern is the War god, rather than God of War. For he is often seen giving his blessings to the legionaries. His divine strength and blood lust strenghten the men and women who fight in his name on the battlefield. However he also holds Blood Oath as highest of his champions can take. For those who fight with honor and swear revenge in his name, are often those who are ready to fight to the death. He is the helmeted man with no armor other than the helmet. He also wields massive bloodied two handed axe, with wolf following him.   Worship and Holy Day   Temple of the twin gods is located in the capital, on the hill of the heroes. Where when the Empire goes to war, a twin crossed swords and helmet banner is raised. To worship them is to fight honorably in war or duel. However they do not accept killing of those who have surrendered. Or using poisons to win the battle.   There is no holy day. However the day war is declared that day Emperor and Senate host games and feast to the people, before legions are raised.
