Evernus

God of the Death   Evernus was the first son of Caern and Neferata. Born out of passion of the two gods, Evernus was given power over the souls of the dead. As he was the one holding the lantern of the soul's purity, he judged every soul that passed through mortal realm. The individual soul would be placed inside the lantern, before it was lit. Depending how bright the light from the soul was, would determine their place in the afterlife. If the soul was pure enough, it would be allowed entrance to the hallowed halls of the Necrophidia the city of the dead. Where they would be allowed to rest and reap the fruits of their labor.   However if the soul was considered tainted by their actions in life, they would be cast to the land of the Umbra. The realm of the Void and one controlled by Neferata. Where they would be twisted and tormented into creations of his mother. Those who are doomed to serve her as undying cursed shadow demons.   Worship & Holy Day   Though Evernus is often invoked and worshipped at the day of the funeral. Some people choose to invoke his name in hopes to gain salvation from illness or injuries. Due the believe that Evernus also chooses when one's time comes to die, many of his priests are also healers. Though he only allows males into priesthood.   To worship Evernus one had to offer a copper coin to the shrines of the Dead found near by any graveyard they pass by. Or when sacrificing in his name, he values white doves as sacrificial animal.   His holy day is 1st of Veruarii when the autumn dies and winter begins. It is public holiday where the dead are worshipped and receive gifts in form of sacrifices and wine is often poured through small holes in the tombstones or the altars of the family crypt.
