Sector of Karlien

The Sector of Karlien is an Initial Sector of the Andisien Federation. Consisting of three star systems, four Incorporated Worlds, two Colonial Moons, and a mass of orbital and planetary trading outposts, Karlien is a small, though very wealthy Sector. Its capital, the decentralised but highly developed Tueriana is a major player within the domestic political system of the Federation.   Discounting its wealth, Karlien is otherwise fairly typical of a Federation Sector. Historically it has played an important role in several conflicts, being the first, and only Initial Sector to fully join the Andisien Rebellion during the 1st Federation Civil War, granting an important level of legitimacy to the rebel cause. Conversely, during the Federal Interegnum, Karlien remained loyal to the Provisional Government. The Sector would also become a major battleground decades later during the Jeraci Invasion of the Federation. Federation Fleet Admiral Lyra Caelith would famously perform the Elidian Withdrawal, retreating vast quantities of Federation resources, manpower, and equipment from Karlien to the Sector of Iomhare, while dealing a major blow to the 3rd Armada of the Imperial Navy.   As with many Sectors, Karlien employs a unicameral system of government, with representatives from each planet forming the Sector Assembly, with the Government being led by a Premier. The President of the Federation also serves as President of Karlien, although the small, mostly symbolic powers that come with this role are delegated to a Sector Governor. Henam Gravo is the current Premier of Karlien, while Ajax Aimer serves as Sector Governor.
