Audra Fletcher (a.k.a. Wings)
Audra Fletcher, affectionately nicknamed "Wings," is the pilot and (non-electronic) navigator of the UNSS Asteria. Wings is both hotheaded and brilliant, a combination that gets her out of danger as easily as it puts her in danger. High-stakes scenarios are where she thrives, and more than once she has estimated a vector change faster than the shipboard AI Chuck could calculate it.
Overcoming a somewhat challenging youth on the twilit world Hemera, Audra exceeded every expectation in her academic career, and was accepted to the UN Aerospace Academy at seventeen metric years old. Her nickname, "Wings," comes from her aptitude for flying: it comes as naturally to her as walking, and she is one of a rare few ground-born humans who feel truly at home in microgravity. Her crewmate Skye Solari, a shyxaure, has often remarked that Wings ought to be considered an "honorary shyxaure." Wings has a very obvious affection for Skye, the ship's soft-spoken astrophysicist, and it is quite clear to anyone except Wings that this crush is reciprocated.
