Ker'zjhan
Ker/zjhan is the resident ecology specialist and chief science officer of the UNSS Asteria. Ker/zjhan's name is pronounced simultaneously in traditional skae convention, but he opts to simplify this to "John" when around beings with only one speaking organ. As CSO, John has authority over experimental priorities and surface objectives where necessary, but usually defers to the consensus of the rest of the scientists.
John works for both the United Nations Aerospace Commission and his native government's @InterGlobal Aerospace Agency[organization] to assess the status and mechanisms of newly discovered biospheres. As an ecologist, he is fascinated with terragenid life-forms and Earth's diasporic biodiversity, and is quite fond of nature documentaries.
John is slightly cynical and very blunt, prone to stating the obvious and voicing unpopular opinions, but these tendencies are not born of malice. He prefers to be honest to avoid miscommunication, and his skepticism is a helpful foil to the boundless optimism of others on the science team.
