First Worm Plague

The First Worm Plague was a world-threatening event that claimed much of the population of Drake's Landing. Heralding the return of an ancient necromancer from the demonic abyss, worms began to infect and convert the city's residents into zombie-like undead. These creatures would, in turn, endeavor to further propogate the worms, leading to the fall of Drake's Landing and its subsequent occupation by the risen necromancer's cult. The infection began to spread outside the city walls, and the undead swept across the countryside, spreading until the eventual defeat of the necromancer by a paladin of the Platinum Dragon.
