Shogun Mitsuhide Tosakaga
The last of the Tosakaga Shoguns, Mitsuhide was admittedly a terrible ruler. He worked his whole life attempting to regain the clan's hold on the others to no avail. Ever since the last Oni war, the Tosakaga clan had been growing weaker and weaker. Never quite able to regain their strength, they were always outmaneuvered or outshone politically. This brings us to the late Mitsuhide's predicament. He focused so hard on recentralizing his family's power, that Rokugan as a whole declined economically. In his effort to wrestle for control, he ended up losing more and more. What's worse is during all of this he spent no time focusing on finding himself a wife, or having children, The Tosakage Shogunate was not only in decline, but it was on its last legs.
Not all hope was lost though, at the age of 57, perhaps on a whim he finally decided to married. The entire country celebrated, and for the first time in a long time, all was well for the Tosakaga family. Though the celebrations were cut short, as a month later Mitsuhide would be found dead in his chambers alongside his now dead wife. It wasn't long before the country was thrown into a panic, and small disputes and skirmishes broke out all over the country. After a couple years, the Tosakani clan would claim the Shogunate for themselves. Not even a month later, blood would be spilt on the borders of Ryuzen and Kai. Followed by official declarations of war. Fifteen years after Mitsuhide's mysterious death, and the entire country would be in utter chaos.

By the end of his life, Mitsuhide was often seen as sickly, or frail. His weight had dropped significantly and his health always seemed to be getting worse with every morning. After his marriage his health seemed to get better, but he still died only a month later.
