The Flawless Emerald
Vistal didn't understand what was going on. Just a week ago he had been on the top of the world, a rich young man becoming richer by the day. He had come to The Jewel to seek his fortune and he had found it. Sure, trying to become one of the major players in a town such as this meant you had to step on some toes and screw over some losers, but that was the nature of the game. And so he really couldn't understand how he now found himself pinned to the floor, gasping through the blood that dripped through his broken nose.
Around him were the four dancers he had brought back to his room after the cabaret. The heartfelt smiles they had thrown him earlier replaced by calm malevolence as they forced him, naked, into the carpet. He had tried asking them what was going no, calling for an explanation, but all of them had remained silent as the grave. And then the door swung open and a man entered the room. Upon seeing the crisp, green, uniform in which he was dressed, Vistal knew he wasn't going to see the next sunrise.

Structure
At the top of the organization sits Lucor Stonebreath, its earth genasi founder. He has personally controlled it for over 400 years and has the final say in any of its business. He is officially known as the Master of Finances.
Below him, the organization is divided into four divisions which each serve its own function.
The Bankers control the everyday operations of the organizations. They run all the different bank-offices, handle trade negotiations, write contracts, etc. This division has a strict hierarchy and corporate-ladder for its members to climb.
The Emerald Knights are the primary military might of The Jewel. Its members are trained for many years and make their way up the ranks of the organization by proving themselves in battle, and in the halls of intrigue.
The Guards of the Flawless act as the main provider of guardsmen throughout the city. Most of the people within its ranks consist of former criminals crews who have been hired indirectly by The Flawless Emerald. While their formal function is to keep the city safe, The Guards also works as enforcers for the organization. They collect debts and punish those who can't make good on their payments.
The final division of the organization is named The Jealous Gaze and is never spoken about in public, for its business is espionage. Dancers and prostitutes steal secrets from love-drunk merchants. Acrobats listen from windowsills of the tallest towers in the cities. Clergymen go about their holy business, taking confessions from those with nowhere else to turn.

Assets
Enormous amounts of funds, the organization is the richest in the Republic. On a continental level, their coffers are second only to the Vetitian royal family.
These funds have bought them troves of weapons armors, goods, cattle and everything else that can be traded. Lacking only in the area of magical expertise. For while the mages they control may be formidable, they are also quite few in number.
