The Field Games
"Petra mounted her stallion, Ebon Wind, and took a deep breath. The air inside the small wooden vestibule was cold but humid. She closed her eyes and focused on her breathing, trying to remember every lesson she had forced into her muscles since last year's defeat. She thought of all the sweaty days she had spent in the saddle, pushing herself and Wind to the utmost. She thought of all those who had helped her get here, her trainer, her wife. She thought of how she had felt one year ago, how she had promised herself never to feel it again.
But as the ready signal was heard outside she thought of nothing.
She simply leaned forward in the saddle, gripped her reigns tight, and listened as Winds heartbeat steadily increased.
The start signal sounded, the doors swung open and the sun hit her eyes. And an Ebon Wind carried her towards victory as the crowd roared."

History
As peace came to Felt it was quickly decided that games were to be held to make sure the city's martial prowess was never lost. To this end, they created the Field Games, a large competition of physical skills.
Execution
The games are started by a member of the royal house, who blows the horn of victory, and then lasts for five days. On the following day, a large ceremony is held where all the winners of the different events accept their prizes and praises.
Components and tools
The games contain the following competitions:
Archery
Competitions are held in different range-classes, as well as different bow-classes.
Swordsmanship
A large tournament is held throughout the entire festival where a single champion is crowned. All fights are concluded at first blood. This is the most popular event of the games, by far.
Racing
Both on feet and on horseback.
Wrestling
Divided into open-hand and closed-fist categories.
