Personal history
Born from a noble Feltian family, Lin was raised from an early age to become an officer in the city's' army. She learned quickly, showing high levels of intelligence from an early age, and was drafted into officers' school at the age of 11. Through her studies, she showed great prowess for tactics but struggled more with the physical aspects of her training. She would move on to become a strategist at the age of 17 and started leading successful campaigns in the ongoing wars. But Lin was not one for battle. She enjoyed the aspect of the strategy surrounding it, but the reality of soldiers dying because of her decisions became a point of dissent for the young woman. She continued to do her duty, hiding her disdain as best she could, until the Battle of The Red River. It is here, when she stood overlooking the destruction her victory had wrought, that she is supposed to have spoken her famed words:
No more shall I give you the blood of the young. From that day forward Lin would work tirelessly toward her goal of ending the war. Many people tried to stop her efforts, yet she outsmarted or outlived them all. And in the year 393, she personally saw to the agreement that formed the Republic of Thorns.
