The Isles of Soemerild

A tropical place in the far south of the Region of Eisôdos populated by peoples of all races, The Isles of Soemerild are an accepting and beautiful place. The warm ocean winds carry the ships to and from their shores full of the valuable parchment and malachite that Gadene is home to. The dense forests are both sheltering and unforgiving as they are home to the diverse and stalwart people with spirits like fire. The city of Yoe Tao, being the first settlement on the isles, set the seed for the culture that permeates all of the isles.   Being home to all races, in particular some of the other races that are less common on the mainland or more hated by commoners of Ilucin, the denizens of this region rarely express disdain towards specific races. They do, however, have an distaste for City of Sôbea and those from there.

Geography

The largest island in The Soemerild Isles, Gadene, is divided into three regions. The northern edge is lush with dense, tropical forest that are laden with hot, humid air. To the south there are open plains covered with the tall, yellow Soemerleaf, a course and tough grass native to The Soemerild Isles. The two areas are separated by the Emerald Peaks, steep mountains peaked with snow and ripe with malachite mines, a resource unique to Gadene.   To the northwest of Gadene lie the other three major islands of The Soemerild Isles, Wantou, Nitou, and Santou. All three of which are blanketed with the same dense forest that lies on the northern edge of Gadene. All flat and teeming with dangerous flora and fauna, these islands are nearly inhospitable, far more hostile than the nearby mainland or Gadene. Poor travelers that wander too deep into the forest on these islands quickly find themselves in a dark and perilous world, as the forest canopy completely blocks out the sun.
