Brenvvin
Brenvvin, also known as "scorching-liquid" or "scorching-liquor" in dwarvish is an alcoholic beverage brewed from a kind of subterranean root-tuber and mixed with spices and even minerals during the brewing process. It is known for its extremely high alcohol content, its strength (or "kick"), and its ability to help miners focus during long shifts in the shafts.
Dwarves would often trick other races to have a drink of brenvvin with them, just to get a laugh when the strength of the drink hits the unprepared and unaccustomed imbiber. Still, on the other hand, being gifted a bottle or skein of brenvvin is a sign of trust.
Commercially, lesser forms of brenvvin can be found in non-dwarven regions of the world, but those pale in comparison to the true liquor brewed in the strongholds. There are whole clans that are dedicated solely to the purpose of brewing and distilling the finest brenvvin, and those liquors are highly sought after and often even worth a small fortune to the outsiders.
Significance
The drink is of great cultural significance to the dwarves, and its brewing and distilling process is a jealously guarded secret among the clans. Some xenophobic dwarves even go as far as to be openly belligerent towards those of other races having brenvvin in their possession.
