Valhalla's Rest
Located in a remote and secluded area deep in the wilderness, Valhalla's Rest is a site of great significance for the Sons of Loki motorcycle club. Surrounded by tall trees and rugged terrain, the site contains the remains of an ancient Viking burial ground, dating back centuries. It was here that the founders, Lucas Rogers, Frank Saunders (Mitch's dad), Robert Foster, and Thomas Harding, stumbled upon the artifacts that ignited their fascination with Norse mythology and inspired the club's name.
Within the burial ground, there is a small clearing with a large, weathered stone resembling a burial mound. The stone is covered in Norse runes and symbols, hinting at the stories and legends of the ancient Viking warriors who once rested here.
As a testament to their deep bond and to honor their fallen brothers, the club has established a tradition of interring the ashes of deceased members under burial mounds of their own at Valhalla's Rest. Among these burial mounds is one dedicated to their founder, Thomas Harding. The ashes of Thomas rest under a simple yet beautifully crafted stone marker, bearing his road name and club insignia, surrounded by symbols of Loki and Viking art.
The burial site serves as a place of remembrance, where the club members pay their respects to their fallen brothers and draw inspiration from their memory. Each year, on the anniversary of a brother's passing, the club gathers at Valhalla's Rest to hold a memorial ceremony, celebrating the life and contributions of the departed.
This sacred spot fosters a profound sense of connection and unity among the Sons of Loki. It is a place where they find solace, contemplate their own mortality, and renew their commitment to living life to the fullest, just as their fallen brothers did. The ashes of the departed rest in the heart of nature, embraced by the wild beauty of the surroundings, reinforcing the club's deep connection to the land, their Viking heritage, and the spirit of Loki.
Valhalla's Rest is not merely a hidden meeting spot but a spiritual sanctuary, where the club's past and present intersect, and where the echoes of their brotherhood resonate through time. The Sons of Loki cherish this hallowed ground, knowing that their fallen brothers will forever ride with them in spirit, as they continue their adventurous journey together.
