Primordials

The primordials are a group of immensely powerful beings that initially came to life within the fires of the infantile planet Ashua. They are the oldest beings in known creation, and outside of rumors and hearsay, none have been seen for millennia. There are three major families of primordials and they vary drastically in appearance, mannerism, and power. They are, in descending order of power, the Children of Flame, the Children of Night, and the Children of Dawn. From these families descended many of the mighty creatures and peoples throughout the ages. From the Children of the Flame came dragons, basilisks, and all manner of great beast.

Children of Flame

The Children of Flame are the oldest among beings that existed before time itself. Wrought from the raw material of the infantile planetoid, those who come from this bloodline have a raw strength and power output that dwarfs that of any other known beings. The patriarch the Children of the Flame is Vraskyrrlaaghraan, and any mortals that know of him believe him to be long since deceased. The tale of his demise is well known throughout world, know it happened so long ago there's no way to tell what's the truth and what's fiction. His earliest creations were his most powerful. Vaasilikyrr, the firstborn, the jealous serpent-god, is the only primordial known to have been active for hundreds of thousands of years.

Children of Night

After the early eons had passed and the fires of the planet retreated deep into its depths, the Children of Night came into being. Where once stood a sea of molten rock and flame there was now solid ground, and where there were defects in its surface there the waters coalesced. From these waters a sort of life emerged, fleshy and bulbous and terrible in appearance, with no solid mass to speak of. Disgusted by this, Vraskyrrlaaghraan opened his maw and let forth a terrible flame. It rained down upon these new beings with no bias, eliminating all who were above the waves. While his strength was great and his dominion over creation was near absolute, the abyssal waters of the infant planet were too dangerous for the elder primordial. The flames and heat that recessed deep into the heart of Ashua had only grown within Vraskyrrlaaghraan, he saw himself as the guardian of all the lands he could reach, and entrusted the watch of the depths to his eldest offspring, Vaasilikyrr.

Vaasilkyrr Cleaned up the shallows, and anything his father could see from his domain above the waves. However, in the deep caves and caverns where the shadows rule all, the serpent began to plot. Aligning himself with these shadow, the god-serpent began the earliest of his machinations to bring down the rest of his kin.
