Necromancy

Necromancy is the forbidden art of summoning and binding the bodies and souls of the dead to the realm of the living, forcing them to return after passing on.  

Necromancy in Practice

  While there are a variety of ways to practice necromancy, there are two main schools within it; That of physical bindings and spiritual bindings.  

Physical Bindings

  Physical bindings involve using the body or bones of deceased as the vehicle for the magics. These bindings often involve direct criminal activity, such as graverobbing or murder, to supply the necessary components for the rituals. These rituals vary as much as the abominable creations that are born from them. It can be something as simple as inscribing a series of runes on the back of a skull, to something as complex as sacrificial bloodletting and skinning while a group nearby chants incantations in Pit Tongue, the language of the dark denizens of the Pit Below.
