Construction of Ashton Manor

Construction beginning/end

The personal residence of Amos Ashton, Ashton Manor, is built.

The construction of Ashton Manor began before the official founding of the town. It is one of the few buildings in town that are not built from timber from the original Ashton Sawmill or stone quarried from the Ashton Quarries. Amos Ashton moved into the manor in 1882, before it had been completed, living in what would eventually become staff quarters.
