Fenwomple on the Road Roleplay
ElrondofImladris10/15/2019
The cloaked fenwomple sat silently by the side of the road, scratching at a piece of parchment. The dusk of evening was settling over the forest, and his lanky frame had begun to blend into the camouflage of the woods.
Sgt.SoftFace1510/15/2019 A small halfling by the name of Milo Burrows trots a long the pathway, enjoying the scenery and humming a traveling song to himself as he walks.
VioletofSherwood10/15/2019 Juniper is hidden in the woods. Watching to see which direction they head.
Sgt.SoftFace1510/15/2019 Slowing down his pace. He notices a figure down my the tree next to the path. Cautiously, he moves closer to investigate.
EldrondofImladris10/15/2019 The fenwomple slowly lifted his head to stare at the approaching halfling. “Can you tell me something? Why does the sun appear to have spots? Are they like the spots on the moon? Or more like holes in cheese?”
Sgt.SoftFace1510/15/2019 Surprised to see this fenwomple in front of him, he stumbles back a bit, but still looks up into the sky to stare directly at the sun, squinting. “I don’t know I suppose..... I can’t really see any spots. I suppose you can?”
ElrondofImladris10/15/2019 “Well, by utilizing the refractive methods of Mortanesque paralytic light emblazonment, we have discovered a way to imprint very bright lights on certain substances. Thus we discovered that the sun has certain areas of darker color.” He paused and glanced up at the sun. “But yes, I can see them.”
Sgt.SoftFace1510/15/2019 “Oh I see....” Burrows trails of as he doesn’t understand basically anything the fenwomple just said. After a pause, “Well I suppose I must be on my way. Farewell.” Burrows says before bowing slightly and slowly beginning moving down the path again.
ElrondofImladris10/15/2019 “May I tell you one more thing?” The fenwomple slowly stood, clutching his stave. “What do you know of this area?”
VioletofSherwood10/15/2019 Juniper: Watches for any sign of what type of Fenwomple this is...
Sgt.SoftFace1510/15/2019 “Well, I do know that this is a very beautiful area I must say! But beyond that, I know that there is a small village down the road a bit. But unfortunately, I don’t know much more at the current moment.”
ElrondofImladris10/15/2019 “Hm, I suppose it is rather pleasing to the eye. But what we see at first glance is rarely what is most important, is it not? Therefore the more accurate question is—what do we not see about this place? I, for one, find the roots of the earth to be of supreme interest. The roots of this place are especially intriguing to me. I feel a... sensation about this place...”
Sgt.SoftFace1510/15/2019 Looking down at the ground and looking skeptical, Burrows taps a nearby tree root with his boot. “I suppose the roots might be a little different than most trees.... what kind of a sensation exactly?”
VioletofSherwood10/15/2019 Juniper watches closely prepared to loose an arrow at the fenwomple if he tries any tricks on this traveler.
Time Scholar10/15/2019 “The ground,” he stepped closer to the halfling, staring at him intently. “ hums. “
VioletofSherwood10/15/2019 Juniper: Draw back her bow string just in case.
ElrondofImladris10/15/2019 “The trembling of the ground talks to me of deep secrets held in the clutches of the earth. I have been plumbing the stones here to measure the vibrations, but have found little.”
Sgt.SoftFace1510/15/2019 A little unsure about pressing his ear down to the dirt to hear for humming he refuses, “I am afraid I can’t help you very much. I’m not that knowledgeable about these types of matters. I do hope you find what you are looking for though!”
ElrondofImladris10/15/2019 “I have found little, yes, but I have found one thing.” An owl hooted in the distance. “A crack. A keyhole. A tunnel. Halflings are not noted for their bravery, but there have been a few notable cases...one halfling I know, named Oblib, joined a group of elves in raiding a dwarven stronghold!”
Sgt.SoftFace1510/15/2019 “Oblib... I’m not quite familiar with him, but he sounds very valiant!” thinking this Oblib could help him with his pursuit of a quest “Where is this Oblib now?”
VioletofSherwood10/15/2019 Frowns and mutters under breath something about senseless killing.
ElrondofImladris10/15/2019 “I not quite sure...I think he ended up back in his home a bit richer than he left.” (I’ll have to go soon, but I like the way this is going so far!)
Sgt.SoftFace1510/15/2019 “Hm. Well, thank you for the advice either way.” He looks at the sky and sees the sun low on the horizon. “Well, seeing as how I still have quite a walk to the nearest town and that it’s getting quite late, I must bid you farewell.” Again another bow and a start down the road again.
VioletofSherwood10/15/2019 Juniper: Watches closely then starts to relax as the traveler goes on down the road
