A Letter from Torria
“If you know me at all, you know I would not write to you unless it was a dire situation. After we parted ways I returned to Torria to find that the laws had changed and the people now lived in fear. The authorities and military have started to recruit men of disreputable methods. This would have never been allowed under the leadership of King Galeren. I began to investigate and found that something has changed not only the king, but most of the generals and politely leaders of Torria. I kept to the shadows and began to uncover what was going on. I learned that an old enemy of the kingdom named Bronus has returned and now controls all that goes on in Torria. He has given the some kind of concoction in the form of a drink that causes them to become local to him somehow. I would not have believed it, but I witnessed them bring in a rebel and force him to drink it. He fought it, but in a matter of minutes he was loyal to Bronus. So far his influence seems to be limited to the kingdom of Torria, but I overheard Bronus discussing expanding his influence beyond these borders. I can’t trust anyone here and don’t know who to turn to. I write you with a matter of urgency and secrecy. Tell no one of this. For the only way to defeat Bronus without killing the king and the good people of Torria is to use stealth and to catch Bronus by surprise. Please meet me in the small Southern border town of Fen Dale. I implore you, this is a matter of grave importance that may very well affect your own kingdoms if left unchecked. Elyon willing, I will see you in Fen Dale soon.”
