Pyraxis ore

Civilian Use (Why Cities Were Possible)

Before the lava purge

The ore allowed:

  • Permanent heat sources for cities in volcanic regions
  • Controlled lava flow redirection
  • Safe forging environments
  • Warmth for homes, bathhouses, and public works
  • Agriculture in ash-rich soil through temperature regulation

Entire civilizations were built around deposits of the ore.

Military & Weapon Use

When forged into weapons or focuses, the ore granted its wielder control over heat itself:

  • Draw heat from enemies, objects, or the environment
  • Release stored heat in precise bursts or sustained flows
  • Burn internally without visible flame
  • Bypass traditional fire resistance and wards
  • Freeze targets by removing heat rather than adding cold

Healing Properties

The ore could redistribute heat within the body to heal wounds:

  • Controlled cauterization of injuries
  • Rapid clotting and tissue stabilization
  • Sterilization of wounds and prevention of infection
  • Reduction of inflammation by heat extraction

Healing was effective but painful, often leaving faint burn-like scars.

Dependent

The ore was not permanent.

  • Storing excessive heat caused internal fractures
  • Rapid heat cycling (especially healing) accelerated decay
  • Over time, the ore cracked, cooled, and crumbled into inert ash

This ash:

  • No longer stored heat
  • Radiated faint warmth
  • Polluted soil and water if overused

Civilizations became dependent on a resource that destroyed itself through use, ensuring constant demand.

After War

  • It became one of the most rarest ore in the world, no one has seen it for many many years
  • Even now people would kill just for a piece of it.
