Magic Overview

Lighting Magic is the use of Enrai by Mages to create and control electricity or Lighting and its related prosperities. Lighting magic had a great deal of versatility, being great at offensive and defensive, as well as plenty of utility spells.

Strengths

Lighting Magic is inherently powerful, making it powerful in combat, more so during storms.

Weaknesses

Lighting Magic though is also difficult to control, and can also be countered by certain natural insulators against electricity to a degree.

List of abilities

Lighting magic has a wide range of abilities, with lower ranked abilities able to be used at a stronger level by high ranked mages. Combat Lighting Mages prefer mage conduits which allow quick casting: bows, daggers, firearms, etc. While non combat lighting mages typically use special conductive gauntlets.

D Ranked Lighting Bolt Attack: the use of Lighting magic to fire a bolt of electricity at medium range which shocks and burns upon impact dealing a moderate amount of damage.

C Ranked Shockwave Attack: the use of lighting magic to create a ranged attack which generates a shockwave which knocks back and damages targets from the point of impact.

C Ranked Lighting Strike Attack: the use of lighting magic to create a powerful single attack capable of piercing through most barriers, walls, and shields.

B Ranked Lighting accelerated projectiles: the use of lighting magic to rapidly accelerate small metal items such as coins, by charging and then releasing the item at medium range which rapidly travel faster than bullets.

A Ranked Lighting Nova: the use of lighting magic to create a powerful explosion of electric energy which burns and shocks targets at medium ranged projectiles.

S Ranked Thunderstorm Control: the use of lighting magic to freely tap into lightning from storms, giving a significant short term power boost.

C Ranked Lighting Welding: the use of Lighting magic to weld two pieces of metal together to strengthen machines, ships, vehicles, and buildings. much more precise then the fire magic equivalent.

Heart and Nerve Healing: the use of lighting magic to stimulate the nerves or heart with electrical bursts. Used to treat heart attacks, and resuscitate patients. and to repair nerve damage.

C Ranked Radio Messages: the use of lighting to send and receive shortwave radio waves which can carry short simple verbal messages between two lighting mages.

D Ranked Lock Disabling: the use of lighting magic to break mechanical locks in such a way to allow entry.

C Ranked Anti-Lighting Barrier: the use of magic to create an invisible barrier which prevents the use of Ice magic within, except those granted permission by the caster.

B Ranked Spell Disruption: the use of lighting magic to create a mostly powerless attack, but which can disrupt a target's casting of a spell temporarily at short range.

Anti Yokai Magic

B Ranked Lighting Chains: the use of lighting magic to shape a lighting attack into a chain like object which can wrap itself around a target doing extra damage against Yokai, but also against mages.

C Ranked Lighting Purify: the use of lighting magic to burn and shock away Enrai corruption.

Puppet Magic

B Ranked Lighting Puppet: the use of Lighting magic to create a puppet of pure Electricity which follows simple commands autonomously, used primarily for offensive purposes. It can only last for at most 24 hours.

Technology Integration

D Ranked Static Prevention: the use of lighting magic to prevent the build up of static electricity, used in certain machines.

C Ranked Defenses: the use of lighting magic to project barriers from machines which use a lighting force field to protect a location from its sides, and above.

C Ranked Communications: the use of lighting magic to create communication devices which can relay short wave radio wave verbal messages between them, as well as long range verbal messages over friendly telegram lines.

B Ranked Lighting Weapons: the use of lighting magic in weapons, mainly in guns and artillery, which uses lighting magic to accelerate projectiles at rapid speeds. also avoids the dangers and issues of gunpowder.

B Ranked Lighting Trains: the use of lighting magic to rapidly accelerate train along tracks at rapid speeds. Also prevents sabotage of the rails by Yokai or Enrai Corruption.

A Ranked: Lightning mages at this level know Master spells.
S Ranked: Lightning mages at this level are the best Lightning magic can do.

Lighting Magic Relation to other Magic

Lighting Magic is easier for wind or Fire mages to learn. Lighting Magic is strong against water and metal magic due to water and most metals ability to conduct electricity. Lighting Magic is weak against Earth Magic for similar reasons.

Lighting Magic Training

Lighting Magic is a rare choice for a mage, requiring the greatest level and control and precision better suited to older mage clans then most newer mages. For those who do learn Lighting Magic early typically do closely monitored by a teacher which can adeptly control and prevent mistakes from being deadly.
