How the Foreclaimers died.
The government of the Foreclaimers had such hubris to believe that they were so advanced as to be immune to any disease. The Dragon of Pestilence secretly unleashed a most inane flu among them that could only kill 2 per 1,000 people but was able to infect 85% of the Foreclaimer population, the government shut down all -quote- "nonessential" -unquote- activities, in order to slow the spread of the virus. The dragon saw this most peculiar and irrational reaction to such a thing and stood back from his initial work to see where this would lead. In spite of the government's best efforts, the spread of the virus did not stop, and the spread of misinformation, hubris, and economic destruction spread like wildfire, giving the dragon such glee at so much destruction with so little effort on his part. Eventually, the government declared martial law and forced an indefinite and absolute lockdown on the entirety of the population, regardless of occupation or so-called "essential-ness". Anyone caught disobeying this curfew was immediately executed where they stood. All "essential" functions were automated by a complex network of runes and automatons. The construction of which was advanced, but it wasn't good enough, as when it fell, everything fell and there was no way for anyone to escape the homes that became their prisons. The Dragon of Pestilence considers this his greatest achievement.
