ASCENSION SPACE V.6

Ascension Space is the setting for the Ascension War, a dark space fantasy with cyberpunk, biopunk, solarpunk and cosmic horror elements.

It is our solar system in a distant future and is a very, very different place to what we know today. Humanity numbers in the trillions and has split into numerous new strains of human, parahuman and transhuman socities. Many worlds and moons have been terraformed and even in the most hostile environments, humanity of one kind or another will be found.

Technology has reached incredible heights and many of the inherent dangers of life beyond Earth have been overcome. There is also the presence of, for want of a better word, magic due to the invasion of our reality by another; the mysterious Aetheric Sea. Where it seeps through it corrupts all, creating areas where time and space become strange and alien.

The system itself is a chaotic and dangerous place divided between warring fiefdoms vying for control over territory and resources. There are the ruins and remnants of a hyper-advanced society everywhere and countless dangers lurking in forgotten places.
