Arthur
Arthur is old.
As to how old no one actually knows, and Arthur is not forthcoming on such matters. There are records of him going back centuries with some as far as back as the twentieth century. He is an anomaly, one of several "immortals" that include the mysterious Mr. Kalik amongst others, and all of them are very dangerous, influential and powerful individuals.
Arthur is a surly, cantankerous misanthrope who nonetheless will jump to the aid of those in need. He is a champion of the oppressed and will take on the most powerful forces simply because it is the right thing to do. The Commonwealth has the "Dragon Protocol" that is triggered whenever its forces encounter Arthur; it amounts to stay out of his way, do not engage and under no circumstances antagonise him. Its navy will also always provide transport to Arthur if he requests it. The reasons for this are unknown, though it is believed that at some point Arthur did a favour for the Royal Family of the Commonwealth and it is generally easier to appease him rather than say no.
Physically, Arthur is tall and broad and has what some call a "dad bod". He is far stronger than a baseline human as well as possessing incredible durability and regenerative capability, healing from what should be grievous wounds in moments. He is a superlative fighter and tactician, though in regards to the former he tends to prefer charging headfirst into most situations. He is skilled with a great many different weapons from the mundane to the more advanced firearms and tech. His regenerative ability allows him to survive what many could not and means he takes risks that most would consider suicidal. He has survived being exposed to hard vacuum for extended periods and more than one atomic blast. The dangerous thing about Arthur is that the angrier gets, the quicker he heals. If he is truly furious, say from being shot and blown up over and over again, his body rebuilds itself in moments. He suspects being thrown into the sun would kill him completely but only thinks about that when he is truly depressed.
For the most part, Arthur just wants a quiet life. Unfortunately for him, trouble tends to find him. He has had a great many enemies over the long centuries of his life, and most are long gone. The one exception to this is his son Mordred who is almost as old and is almost his opposite. Mordred is a callous mercenary for hire, a handsome and charming devil who lacks his father's moral compass. The two have clashed numerous occasions and Mordred likes to consider himself his father's true rival. Still, the two have on occasion worked together and there is a grudging respect between the two.
In spite of him wanting a quiet life, Arthur is invariably drawn into situations whether he wants to or not. He hides it well but Arthur retains a tiny sliver of hope that humanity can be great.
Those with the gift, the Dewyn, say that they see a halo above Arthur's head.
A halo in the form of a crown.
