Confessors
"The Confessors had built a sizeable mission on edge of the battered coastlands, attempting to make contact with the local Urokir Tribes. The dense jungles proved a daunting challenge, lethal to many, but the Confessors were made of a sterner stuff, willing to brave any danger to bring Word of the New Gods to the furthest reaches of the world. I witnessed their bravery first hand, when a report came that a tribe, friendly to their mission had been suffering from a mysterious illness. Despite the dangers of the wild inland jungles, a party of these White Cloaks set off and I with them. The tribe had been saved and more converts won to our Gods."
The Confessors are one of the many types of Arbiters holy orders of itinerant priests and monks that serve small and remote communities; confessors are those which specialize in spreading the faith of the Covenantal Church across Tenembria and beyond. Confessors also play an important role as teachers, teaching the communities they serve to speak, read and write in High Arumnish which allows them to better integrate into the wider Covenantal Realms and opens up greater lines of communication.
Confessors have among the most difficult and dangerous lives of all God Speakers, living at the extreme fringes of the Church's reach and authority, they often live in great peril, hunted by agents of the Infernal and rebuffed, banished, and even killed by the very tribes and nations to which they preach.
