The Ancient Golden Ones

Glistening and beyond reach... BEHOLD, THOSE WHO BEAR PERFECTION!

Mentioned in ancient myths and tales of a long dead kingdom, mentions of beings called the ancient golden ones can be found, scattered through multiple tomes and ruins. Esoteric and never properly explained, these entities with no origins have drawn the attention of many inquisitive and forlorn people. Related to many unnatural events, such as the first discovery of sungold, the golden ones are a popular topic of research for many.   The most well known legend, is that of the kingdom of gold, a place that is only known to exist as it's former ruler exists now as cierzo. Where the kingdom once was and what happened to it is still debated in most modern studies of research, leading to the popularity of the tale.   The ancient golden ones gifted a golden crown to an ancient emperor, and their army of warriors of gold, and with the crown, the emperor controlled them, cementing his rule and giving his kingdom prosperity. The warriors defending against any invader, stopping any crime, never asking anything, never wanting, never shaking from their loyalty to the command of the crown. The emperor grew wise and skilled, his manipulation and control over the warriors being akin to controlling one's own body.   Upon his deathbed, his heirs, all inexperienced and selfish, bickered and argued over who would inherit the title of Emperor. and rule, having become gluttonous, greedy, and sinful in the peaceful lands. The Emperor was angry and disgusted at their bickering and split the crown and sent them across the empire for the heirs to find and prove themselves. Unfortunately it proved too much for the heirs as they continued to argue and compete with each other, killing each other and failing to find a single piece of the crown, instead, the once golden kingdom simply became stained with blood.   The kingdom disappeared to dust, and the ancient golden ones looked on.
