Blue Orcs are an incredibly rare and odd variant of the otherwise physically biased race. Their blue hues hint towards a more otherworldly nature, a blue orc's nature is within mental power.
Physical Description: Blue Orcs' most telling feature, to the point of unnerving other orcs, are their unnatural blue skin with odd tones in both bright light and darkness. Almost capable of being considered seen as shimmering by others, they possess many unusual features. A blue orc's hair color seemingly bears no restriction or even loyalty to a single tone or hue. They commonly possess heterochromia due to their eyes seemingly following this same oddity. Moreso, blue orcs are surprisingly lean and lack physical fortitude compared to their brethren, causing them to seem diminutive in comparison. Despite this, their body has some unique features compared to a normal orc, such as an extra toe and finger on each foot and hand, and particularly longer ears with longer earlobes.

Society: Blue Orcs' unique mental prowess puts them in a unique situation, more easily able to learn and adapt to situations and circumstance leads them to be able to make up for their smaller frame, and often are seen as an ill omen within an orc tribe and within metropolitan orc communities. Their unstable nature often leads them to be isolated and their intelligence causes them to be aware of their superstitious status. This often leads to a situation in which there is a constant friction in the community between the blue orc and their brethren, and leads them to often leave and become hermits, or in the rare chance, enter a symbiotic relationship with an obsidian orc that usually leads to the terrible twosome taking over a tribe, thanks to their natural strengths covering the other's weakness.
Relations: Blue Orcs, already seen as an ill omen among orcs, are seen as one of two orcish symbols of disaster by more superstitious races, such as wood elves or dwarves. Their unstable nature leading them to commonly be seen as less likely to adapt to cultures or societies despite their greater intellect. Despite this, within enclaves such as the World Mage Association, they are often seen as another peer due to their high rate of magical capability, even among those who do not fully pursue such ends. As such, blue orcs often employ a hermit or wizardly lifestyle for those not drafted by bandits or cults. They are also notably often welcomed by psiroids, seen as kindred spirits in terms of their psionic powers being both a boon and a burden.
Alignment and Religion: Blue Orcs' instability and intelligence leads to them more often refusing authority or being unable to contain their desires, leading them to more often lead to the chaotic side of alignment, but do not lean one way or the other for good or evil. Blue Orc's powers often lead them to disregard usual worship of battle, craftsmanship, community, food, and other important tribal or communal needs, for a preference towards more ethereal choices, such as gods of elements or magic.
Adventurers: Blue Orcs often enter adventuring groups due to often being pushed out of their community out of superstition, and commonly find a new home among the usual group of odd individuals seen within such parties. They're ability to fulfill both mental and physical roles lead to a wide variety of roles they can fulfill.
Standard Racial Traits
- Ability Score Racial Traits: Blue Orcs are strong and mentally empowered, but lack the same fortitude of their brethren. They gain +4 Strength, +2 Intelligence, -2 Constitution, -2 Wisdom, and -2 Charisma.
- Type: Blue Orcs are humanoids with the orc subtype.
- Size: Blue Orcs are Medium creatures and thus have no bonuses or penalties due to their size.
- Base Speed: Blue Orcs have a base speed of 30 feet.
- Languages: Blue Orcs begin play speaking Common and Orc. Orcs with high Intelligence scores can chose from the following: Dwarven, Giant, Gnoll, Goblin, Undercommon. See the Linguistics skill page for more information about these languages.
Offense Racial Traits
- Ferocity: Blue Orcs possess the ferocity ability which allows them to remain conscious and continue fighting even if their hit point totals fall below 0. Orcs are still staggered at 0 hit points or lower and lose 1 hit point each round as normal.
- Darkvision: Blue Orcs can see perfectly in the dark up to 60 feet.
Psionic Racial Traits
- Naturally Psionic: Blue Orcs receive Wild Talent as a bonus feat at 1st level. If a blue orc takes levels in a psionic class, he instead gains the Psionic Talent feat.
- Psychic Knack: Blue Orcs receive a +2 racial bonus to caster level in occult and psionic classes as long as this bonus doesn't raise your caster level above your current Hit Dice.
Weakness Racial Traits
- Light Sensitivity: Blue Orcs are dazzled in areas of bright sunlight or within the radius of a daylight spell.
